There are moments in life that quietly divide our story into a before and an after.
For me, June 8 marks one of those moments.
Seventeen years ago, Guillain-Barré Syndrome changed my life in ways I never could have imagined. Overnight, ordinary things became extraordinary challenges, and a future I had carefully imagined suddenly looked very different.
Yet through every season that followed, God never left me.
Faith became more than something I believed.
It became something I lived.
Hope became more than a comforting word.
It became a daily choice.
And love—from God, from my beloved William, who has faithfully walked beside me every step of this journey, from family, and from friends—made it possible to keep moving forward, even when my path no longer looked the way I had once expected.
Over the years, I have come to understand that our circumstances do not define us. Our response to them does.
Although I continue this journey using a wheelchair, I have never stopped believing that beauty can still be created, dreams can still be pursued, and God’s purpose can still unfold in unexpected ways.
In many respects, Zephyr Faith Crafts was born from that realization.
Every piece of artwork we create begins with gratitude. Each church, cross, landscape, and quiet place of reflection is created with the hope that it will bring peace, encouragement, and a reminder of God’s enduring presence into someone’s home. Art has become one of the ways I express the hope that has carried me through these seventeen years.
When I look back, I do not simply see the hardships. I see God’s faithfulness. I see prayers answered in unexpected ways, acts of kindness that carried me forward, and beauty continuing to grow even in life’s most difficult seasons.
If these seventeen years have taught me anything, it is that God is often doing His greatest work when we cannot yet see where the road is leading. Looking back now, I can see that every challenge, every small victory, and every quiet moment of grace became part of a story He was writing all along.
As we welcome another June, my prayer is that anyone facing their own difficult journey will remember this:
Hope is never wasted.
Love is never powerless.
And faith has a remarkable way of carrying us farther than we ever believed possible.
From our family at Zephyr Faith Crafts, thank you for allowing us to share this journey with you.
May God’s peace be with you today and always.
